This week, District VI Deputy Vice Presidents Cameron Baber, Jorge Segura, Danny Kitt and District Vice President Tyler L. Williams are attending L2881 Finance Training in Sacramento at our Local 2881 Union Hall. This class goes over our District VI Budget and auditing the previous year. Yesterday, District VI Union Officers attended several events across the County and also engaged in membership outreach. District VI Vice President Tyler L. Williams attended the Riverside County Board of a Supervisors meeting in Riveride CA. This included a meet and greet with District 4 Manny Perez’s Chief of Staff Steven Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez also serves as the City of Coachella Mayor.
Afterwards, membership outreach was made at station 72 Valle Vista and station 12 Old Town Temcula. Finally, Director of Rank and File Mark Garcie and Vice President Tyler L. Williams attended the Temecula City Council Meeting on behalf of District VI. It’s important we continue to stay engaged with current events and build our relationships with Elected Officials across Riverside County.

This morning I had the privilege of attending the ceremony in which, District 5 Board of Supervisor Yxstian Gutierrez was sworn into his position. The ceremony was part of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors meeting today. Supervisor Karen Spiegel and Supervisor Manny Perez were also sworn in as they were re-elected into their seats for another 4 year term. Also sworn in was Ben Benoit, who will take over as Audit-Controller of the County. All of these individuals are Local 2881 supporters and we look forward to continuing to build our relationships with our elected officials across Riverside County.
Shortly, I will be boarding a flight to Sacramento to attend meetings on behalf of District VI for our annual Cal Fire Local 2881 Convention, which begins in a couple days. I will be providing updates throughout the week on what is going on at Convention.

Supervisor Gutierrez- any chance you can persuade Cal Fire to host a Cinder Camp in this area? Wonderful opportunity for young girls.
